ETH Surges 18%—Still Dare to Chase? Be Careful Not to Turn “FOMO Anxiety” into a High-Level Bag

ETH is really showing no mercy this time, breaking straight through $2,300 with a gain of nearly 18%; BTC has also resumed its push toward $70k. Market sentiment has instantly switched from “Is this a bear market?” to “Is $3,000 the next stop?” At times like this, the most dangerous enemy is often not the bears, but FOMO.

In addition to renewed risk appetite, this rally has also been clearly driven by short covering. Data shows that short liquidations across the crypto market exceeded $1 billion within one hour, with BTC and ETH both making significant contributions.

So if I were making a plan, I would not go all-in on ETH after an 18% surge.

My first option would be to wait for a pullback. $2,300 is now the key level to watch. If ETH pulls back into the $2,250–$2,300 range, quickly reclaims it, and buying interest emerges, I would consider building a position in batches; if it breaks below $2,200 and continues weakening, I would exit and wait on the sidelines. Market analysis also views $2,200 as an important short-term support level for ETH.

The second option would be to chase a breakout: if ETH breaks above $2,400 on strong volume while BTC remains strong, I could follow with a small position rather than go all-in. After all, trend trading can be chased, but your position size must be consistent with your stop-loss tolerance.

For taking profit, I would favor realizing gains in batches around $2,400–$2,500, with the remaining position held or sold depending on the trend. Stop-losses must be set in advance; once a key support level is decisively broken, execute the plan without hesitation.

As for BTC, I actually treat it as ETH’s “weather forecast.” Once BTC holds above $70k, ETH will have better conditions to continue rising; if BTC falls back below $67k, a high-beta asset like ETH could very likely fall even faster.

As for shorting, I would not immediately reverse my position just because “it has risen too much.”

The market loves to teach people like this a lesson: when you think it has risen too much, it can rise even further; when you think it must finally fall, it gives you another bullish candle.

Therefore, my answer is: bullish on ETH, but don’t chase the initial leg; bullish on BTC, but wait for support confirmation.

A truly good trade is not about buying the earliest, but about finding the most comfortable risk-reward ratio.

Missing one opportunity is no big deal. Chasing the top and staring at the chart every day while shouting, “When will I break even?”—that is the real mental drain. #BTCETH反弹交易思路
