Don’t rush near $70k: Buy the BTC pullback, exit if the breakout fails

BTC’s rise this time has been remarkably fast, surging toward $70k in a short period with gains of over 7%, while ETH rose 18%. This is not an ordinary small rebound, but a rapid move jointly driven by improving expectations for macro liquidity, a recovery in risk appetite, and concentrated short covering. The latest market reports show that BTC briefly touched $70k and saw large-scale short liquidations.
But my trading principle is: a breakout can justify a bullish view, but that does not necessarily mean chasing immediately afterward.
The first level I’m watching for BTC is $70k.
If the price can hold above $70k, then pull back to the $68k–$70k range and find support, I would consider entering in batches. This “breakout–pullback–confirmation” structure is usually much more comfortable than directly chasing a large bullish candle.
If BTC continues surging directly to $73k or even higher, I will reduce my chasing position. The further the price rises, the potential gains may not increase accordingly, but the pullback risk will certainly rise.
For taking profits, I will treat $73k–$75k as the first profit-taking zone. If trading volume continues to expand and the trend remains strong, I will retain part of the position to follow the move.
Stop-loss is simple and blunt: exit if key support breaks. Trading is not a romance; there is no need to keep accompanying a losing position just because you “once believed in it.”
For ETH, $2,300 has become an important level to watch. Recent market analysis suggests that if ETH holds $2,200 and maintains capital inflows, it still has room to challenge $2,300–$2,500.
So my ETH plan is: don’t chase near $2,300; wait for a pullback confirmation. If it breaks above $2,400 on strong volume, then consider a small position in the direction of the trend.
Going short in the opposite direction is not currently my preferred option.
The reason is simple: shorts have already been taught a harsh lesson this round, and the market still has an inclination to squeeze them. Unless BTC breaks below key support with expanding volume while ETH weakens in tandem, trying to pick a top recklessly could easily make you candlestick fuel once again.
So my current judgment is: bullish trend, cautious execution.
BTC waits for a pullback, ETH waits for confirmation; follow if the breakout succeeds, exit if it fails.
There are opportunities every day, but there is only one account principal.
