Still willing to chase ETH after an 18% surge? Don’t let “fear of missing out” turn into a weight-loss plan for your account

ETH has truly made its presence felt this time. The price quickly climbed above $2,300, gaining nearly 18%, while BTC also renewed its push toward $70k. The market is in celebration, and questions on social platforms have shifted from “Can ETH keep rising?” to “Is it already too late to buy now?”
Precisely at this moment, I would instead offer a reminder: Don’t let the fear of missing out make you abandon risk control as well.
This rally does have the backdrop of improving fundamentals and macro sentiment, but short-term gains also clearly include short-covering factors. Market data shows that crypto assets have recently seen large-scale liquidations, with ETH also becoming one of the assets where the battle between capital has been most intense.
Therefore, what ETH needs most now is not to continue proving that it “can rise,” but to prove that it can hold around $2,300.
If I were making a trading plan, I would not go all-in and chase above $2,300. I would lean toward two strategies.
The first is buying the dip. If ETH retests the $2,250–$2,300 area, finds clear support, and moves upward again, I would view it as confirmation after the breakout. The stop-loss can be placed below key support, with risk controlled according to your position size; if it later breaks back above $2,400, consider taking profits in batches to avoid turning a profitable trade into one that “was once profitable.”
The second is chasing strength, but the position must be significantly smaller than the dip-buying position. For example, if ETH breaks above $2,400 while trading volume continues to expand, you could consider following the trend with a small position rather than firing all your bullets at once.
As for shorting, I would not immediately reverse my position simply because “it has risen too much.”
This is one of the easiest mistakes for traders to make: After seeing an 18% rise, their first thought is, “It’s so high now, it must fall.” But the market will never proactively give you a discount just because you think something is expensive.
If ETH remains strong, bears could easily become fuel once again.
So my core plan is: bullish on ETH, but wait for confirmation; BTC determines the broader direction, while ETH offers the potential for greater moves.
Take profits in batches, set stop-losses in advance, and don’t stubbornly endure losses with leverage.
If $2,300 becomes support, this rally may still have room to run; if $2,300 proves to be only a fleeting appearance, then wait for the next opportunity.
What trading fears most is not missing one train, but throwing both your wallet and ID out the window just to catch it.
You can be bullish now, but never so bullish that you lose your brakes. #BTCETH反弹交易思路
