Ethereum Supply Is Moving Differently 👀

One interesting on-chain trend is the changing amount of crypto held on exchanges.
Santiment data has highlighted that Ethereum’s exchange supply has continued to stay low, while Bitcoin exchange balances have recently started moving higher again.
These shifts can matter because exchange balances sometimes give clues about how much supply is readily available for trading.
But one metric alone doesn’t tell the whole market story.
For me, the key takeaway is simple:
Watch the data, understand the trend, and don’t let one signal become the entire thesis.

It’s too early to draw conclusions from a single data point. On-chain activity often lags, so let’s observe for a few days before making a judgment.

BTC balances are trending upward, while ETH balances remain flat, indicating that capital preferences are indeed diverging and the two may follow separate paths in the short term.

Interesting—people used to say Bitcoin had to be hoarded to rise, but now its balance is recovering and it’s still surging. Has the market logic changed?

Low exchange balances only indicate that people are not in a hurry to sell; they do not mean prices will immediately rise. You still need to assess them together with trading volume.
