629% ON DAY ONE — BUT THE REAL STORY STARTS AFTER THE HYPE

Unitree Technology’s debut has turned the robotics sector into one of the market’s biggest talking points. The stock opened at ¥1,100, a stunning 629.44% above its ¥150.80 IPO price, briefly pushing its valuation toward ¥445 billion.

But there is an important detail behind the headline: Unitree did not hold the opening surge. The stock finished its first trading session around ¥845, still roughly 460% above the IPO price. That sharp gap between the opening spike and closing price is a strong reminder that extreme enthusiasm can bring equally aggressive profit-taking.

What makes the move more interesting is that investors are not simply pricing Unitree’s current business. They are pricing the future of humanoid robotics, embodied AI and large-scale automation. Unitree has established a strong position in robotic hardware, but the next stage of competition will increasingly depend on intelligence, autonomy, software, reliability and commercial deployment.

The valuation therefore becomes the key debate. A massive first-day repricing can create a disconnect between market expectations and near-term fundamentals. The higher the valuation climbs, the more future growth the market demands. Any slowdown in revenue, production, margins or commercial adoption could therefore produce significant volatility.

At the same time, dismissing the rally as “just a bubble” may also miss the bigger picture. Unitree’s debut demonstrates how strongly capital markets are beginning to value hard-tech companies operating at the intersection of robotics and AI. The IPO raised roughly ¥6.1 billion, with funding supporting areas such as R&D and manufacturing expansion.

There is also an international dimension. Unitree has generated meaningful overseas revenue, showing that its opportunity is not limited to China. If robotics adoption accelerates globally, companies capable of combining scalable hardware with increasingly sophisticated AI could become major beneficiaries of the next technology investment cycle.

For traders, however, the most important signal is the transition from IPO excitement to price discovery.

A 629.44% opening gain tells us that demand was enormous. The subsequent move toward ¥845 tells us that sellers were equally willing to take advantage of that demand. From here, volume, price stability, valuation expectations and future business results matter far more than the opening headline.

The robotics story may be real. The difficult question is whether Unitree’s future growth can expand quickly enough to justify the expectations created by its extraordinary debut.

That is where the next chapter begins. $UNITREE
