#GateEventPointsSystemLaunched #GateEventPointsSystemLaunched

Gate has launched its Event Points system — turning participation itself into a new form of value inside the platform.

At first glance, it looks like another rewards feature.

But there is a much bigger idea behind it.

Crypto platforms have traditionally rewarded users for specific actions:

Trade more.
Deposit more.
Stake more.

Event Points introduce a different model:

Participate more → accumulate more points → unlock more opportunities.

That changes the way campaigns can work.

Instead of treating every event as a separate promotion, Gate can connect user activity across different campaigns and create a longer participation cycle.

And Gate already has a large ecosystem of events built around trading, new token launches, Launchpool campaigns and product releases.

The interesting question is therefore not simply:

“How many points can I earn?”

It’s:

“What happens when millions of individual actions start accumulating inside the same reward system?”

That’s where the model becomes interesting.

Imagine two users.

One participates in a single campaign and leaves.

The other keeps returning:

joins events,
completes eligible activities,
accumulates points,
and waits for new opportunities.

The second user is no longer interacting with Gate because of one campaign.

They are interacting with the ecosystem itself.

That creates a powerful cycle:

More events → more participation → more points → stronger incentive to return → more activity.

But there is an important caveat.

Points only have real value if the rewards attached to them are meaningful.

A large points balance means very little if the redemption value is unclear.

So the numbers I would watch are not just the total points distributed.

I would watch:

Active participants

Repeat participation

Number of connected events

Points accumulated

Rewards unlocked

Because those numbers will reveal whether Event Points are simply another promotional tool…

or whether Gate is building a genuine user-retention mechanism around them.

And that’s why this launch is more interesting than it initially appears.

The crypto exchange battle is increasingly moving beyond trading fees and token listings.

Exchanges are competing for something harder to obtain:

user attention.

If Gate can turn individual campaigns into one continuous participation loop, Event Points could become another layer connecting the entire ecosystem.

The points are easy to collect.

The real question is what Gate can make them worth. 👀
