GATE’S JULY GROWTH IS BIGGER THAN A SINGLE NUMBER
$OPENAI
July was an important month for Gate because growth was visible across multiple areas of the ecosystem rather than coming from one isolated product. Derivatives, RWA, stocks, ETFs, Pre-IPO opportunities, AI trading, wealth management, payments and Web3 all continued expanding together, showing a broader shift in Gate’s overall strategy.
Gate recorded approximately $276B in futures trading volume in July, representing around 9.08% market share, while its open-interest market share reached 11.2%. These numbers show that Gate is strengthening its position in derivatives and attracting increasing activity from traders looking beyond traditional spot markets.
The RWA segment is another major highlight. With industry-wide RWA perpetual volume reaching approximately $460B, Gate captured around 4.39% market share and ranked among the top three centralized exchanges in this growing category. As RWA adoption develops, early liquidity and infrastructure could become important competitive advantages.
What makes this growth more interesting is that Gate is expanding beyond crypto-native products. The platform continued developing U.S. stock and ETF trading, tokenized securities, stock copy trading and cross-brokerage transfers, creating a wider environment where users can access different asset classes without constantly moving between platforms.
The primary-market numbers also stand out. The OpenAI Pre-IPO project reportedly attracted more than $260M in subscriptions, while Gate’s ETF ecosystem expanded to 386 trading pairs and generated approximately $20B in July turnover. This highlights growing demand for products that go beyond conventional cryptocurrency trading.
Innovation continued across newer products as well. Gate’s event contracts reached more than 36% market share in a single day, new options traders increased by over 40% month over month, new trading-bot users rose by more than 47%, and average daily volume generated by AI strategies increased by over 36%.
The wealth-management side also showed strong activity. Simple Earn added 60 new projects, with cumulative subscriptions exceeding $1.56B, while on-chain yield products reached more than $1.27B in peak TVL. This suggests that users are increasingly looking for ways to generate returns from idle assets instead of relying entirely on active trading.
Payments are becoming another important part of the ecosystem. Gate Card increased maximum cashback to 8% and expanded its availability across 200+ countries and regions, connecting digital assets with everyday spending and giving the ecosystem a more practical real-world use case.
At the same time, growth needs to be supported by transparency and risk management. Gate reported an overall 117% reserve ratio, an important metric as the platform continues expanding across multiple financial categories.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
For me, the most important takeaway from July is that Gate is increasingly moving beyond the traditional definition of a crypto exchange.
The ecosystem is expanding across Crypto, Derivatives, RWA, Stocks, ETFs, Tokenized Assets, Pre-IPO Products, Event Contracts, AI Trading, Wealth Management and Payments.
That creates a much broader value proposition for users and potentially gives Gate multiple growth engines instead of depending on one market segment.
However, strong monthly numbers are only the beginning. The real test will be whether Gate can maintain liquidity, security, product quality, user engagement and sustainable market share when market conditions become more challenging.
July showed the scale of Gate’s expansion.
The next stage is about turning that expansion into long-term, sustainable growth.
That is the part I will be watching most closely.
