Gate was one of the fastest-growing major exchanges in July. But the more interesting question is not how fast it grew — it is where that growth came from.

July brought a noticeable expansion across several parts of Gate’s ecosystem.

Spot trading activity increased.

Derivatives remained a major source of volume.

And RWA perpetual futures became one of the more interesting growth areas, with trading activity reaching $460 billion in July.

But one number stands out:

4.39%

That was Gate’s reported global centralized-exchange market share in July.

At first glance, 4.39% may not look extraordinary.

But in a market where billions of dollars move between exchanges every day, gaining even a fraction of a percentage point represents a significant amount of additional activity.

And this is where the story gets interesting.

Gate’s growth is no longer coming from just one product.

The ecosystem is expanding across:

Spot → Derivatives → RWA → Stocks → Pre-IPO → Prediction Markets

That matters because the exchange business is changing.

The next generation of major exchanges won’t necessarily compete simply by offering more tokens.

They will compete for something much more valuable:

the user’s entire financial activity.

A trader might enter through $BTC .

Then move into derivatives.

Then explore RWA products.

Then stocks.

Then Pre-IPO opportunities.

The more of that activity remains inside one ecosystem, the more valuable that user becomes to the platform.

And that creates a powerful growth cycle:

More users → more liquidity → more trading activity → deeper markets → more users.

But there’s another number I would watch closely.

Market share.

Because absolute trading volume can rise simply because the entire crypto market is growing.

Market share tells us something different:

Is Gate growing faster than its competitors?

That’s the real test.

If Gate can continue increasing its share while expanding into new financial products, July’s growth could prove to be more than a temporary monthly spike.

It could be evidence of a much larger shift in the exchange market.

The competition is no longer just about being a crypto exchange.

It’s becoming a race to build a global digital financial ecosystem.

July gave Gate the growth.

Now the question is whether that growth can become lasting market share. 👀

Would you measure an exchange’s strength by trading volume, market share, liquidity, or the number of financial products it offers?
