The bridge connecting XRP Ledger and Coreum was subjected to an attack that resulted in the theft of approximately 200,000 XRP. The attacker tricked the bridge's verification system into making a fake investment appear real without actually making a genuine XRP investment. Real XRP was then withdrawn in return. Following the incident, the bridge was shut down, and the development team stated that the vulnerability originated from the Coreum software, not the XRP Ledger. On-chain analysis revealed that the 198,715.88 XRP obtained by the attacker was converted to ETH, routed through THORChain, and subsequently sent to Tornado Cash ..
