$BTC Capitulation already happened.

Looking at the past two bear markets, we can see that the weekly RSI entered extreme oversold territory both times.

In 2018, it marked the exact bottom, while in 2022, one final leg down followed.

This time, the RSI once again reached extreme oversold territory, and since then we’ve seen additional downside just like in the previous cycle.

Does that mean the bottom has to be in?

No, but it does suggest that the remaining downside is limited, while the upside offers a much better RR from here.

Time to bid, imo.

Whether this is the bottom or not doesn’t matter. The key is to manage your funds well: accumulate some spot in batches, and keep some cash in reserve for the final drop. That way, you can sleep soundly.

Comparing RSI with historical cycles makes sense, but the reasons behind each decline are different, and macro conditions are too unpredictable. I still feel we shouldn’t put too much faith in technical patterns—let’s patiently wait for confirmation.

RSI oversold is indeed a signal, but the 2018 and 2022 trends differed quite a bit. It’s hard to say whether this time it needs to stab once more—just don’t go all in.

From a risk-reward perspective, it is indeed more attractive than before, but “limited downside” is itself a vague concept—who knows how limited “limited” is? Just manage your position size properly.

I also think a true market bottom usually isn’t identified by RSI; it appears when nobody dares to buy. With so many people still calling for a bottom in the comments, we may not be there yet.

To be honest, whenever I see this kind of “the bottom is in” analysis, I first take three seconds to stay calm. Indicators are only for reference; market sentiment is the most brutal factor, so there’s nothing wrong with being cautious.
