Tech earnings and rate policy now set the tone. Bitcoin hovered near $65,900 on Wednesday, just shy of a two-week peak, up 1.5% on week, while Ether held near $1,917, up 2% on week. The pause lined up with a stall in chip shares as traders braced for Alphabet results due after US close. Nasdaq 100 futures eased 0.8%, Korea Kospi trimmed gains, Europe tech lagged too.
Why does AI cap-ex matter for crypto? Same risk bid drives both, plus many miners now pitch as data-center plays. Alphabet flagged cap-ex up to $190B this year, so proof of return on that spend will sway risk. That link kept BTC glued to AI beta all month.
Oil added noise. Crude over $85 on fresh US-Iran headlines lifted gold and pressured risk, yet BTC held $65k-$66k band, a sign of firm spot demand from ETF flows. Hyperliquid lagged, down 2% on week, showing not all beta joined.
