Salaries of the military: the Council answered whether they will find funds for 200,000 soldiers

People’s deputy from the “Servant of the People” faction, deputy head of the human rights committee Ruslan Gorbenko told about this in an interview with “Telegraph”.

“Frankly speaking, 50% of the military ask when the war will end. And those who have been serving for more than a year ask when it will not be demobilized, but when there will be at least a rotation. Only 10% of the military units that are currently on front,” he said.

Horbenko said that the guys on the front line alternate two days in two, or three in three. They are taken to a place of deployment near the front for rest and returned to their positions again.

"A full rotation is when a military unit is withdrawn for at least two months, the soldiers are given a 30-day rest, then they have to go through combat adjustment, update their physical form. And at such a rate of rotations, as now, it is very difficult to maintain physical form. And that’s why we need to have reserves in order to fully deploy our military units for recovery. At the front, they ask exactly these questions, not “when will you demobilize me”, - shared the People’s Deputy.

In addition, according to Horbenka, there are a lot of wishes from those soldiers regarding the combat allowance, not 100,000 hryvnias, but 200,000. It can be done, there is such a proposal from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“The budget is really not rubber and everything the country earns, we spend exclusively on war and armaments. But at the same time, there are those who “fight” in quotation marks: refusers and those who voluntarily leave the unit. The commanders have no way to force the order to be carried out. The commander can write a report and the one who refused to carry out the order will simply be punished with a salary,” explained Horbenko.

For refusing to carry out the order, the commander can do in this situation - simply withdraw the salary. And the state counted on this person. Horbenko does not see the point of keeping such people in the ranks of the army. It is better to direct these funds to additional motivation of boys who want to fight and defend their country.

As reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defense Yuriy Mysiagin, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced an increase in the salary of the military to 200,000 hryvnias during a meeting with members of the faction. This will apply only to those who have been at zero for more than two years. But this is not yet the final decision.

Bill No. 11012, which proposes an increase in the monthly salary of military personnel, will probably be considered after the draft law on mobilization, Yuriy Zdebskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said.
