ME News, April 28 (UTC+8). Arthur Hayes said at the Bitcoin 2026 conference that, compared with the direction of short-term interest rates, he is more focused on comments by the nominee for U.S. Federal Reserve chair, Kevin Warsh, about the balance sheet, because this will affect dollar liquidity and the pricing of risk assets such as Bitcoin. Hayes believes the market’s expectations for Warsh to be “hawkish” may be overinterpreted; he expects the Fed to adjust liquidity through means such as asset swaps, rather than weakening the U.S. Treasury’s ability to issue debt.
