Meta prepares to break down the $2.5 billion Manus acquisition, acknowledges it allows founders to leave

ME News: On April 28 (UTC+8), The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Meta is preparing to unwind its acquisition of AI agent startup Manus. As part of the deal termination, Meta will have to allow Manus founders to leave.

Previously, Meta used a “hire the team but not the company” model in acquisitions. Letting the founders go is tantamount to actively dismantling the core asset of this acquisition. (Source: The Wall Street Journal)
