PANews July 29 news, according to Cryptopolitan, Emirates Airlines has added cryptocurrency payment options for its website and app through Crypto.com Pay, and compliant transactions meet UAE regulatory standards. The service is for UAE residents, and is priced and settled in the UAE’s official currency, the dirham. Earlier this year, Crypto.com obtained a stored value facility license from the Central Bank of the UAE through its UAE entity, enabling it to offer crypto payments in the UAE.

Crypto.com will receive crypto payments, convert them into dirham stablecoins or fiat dirhams, and then settle with Emirates Airlines. Emirates Airlines is the fourth airline globally to support crypto payments, following Latvia’s airBaltic, Spain’s Vueling, and Japan’s Peach Aviation. The service is part of Dubai’s D33 economic agenda’s “cashless strategy,” aiming to digitize 90% of financial transactions in the government and private sectors by the end of 2026.
