Solflare Card pauses services because the issuing partner, Kulipa, has shut down, while user funds are safe and the new version will go live in a few weeks
PANews July 29, crypto wallet Solflare co-founder Vidor posted on X that, due to the card issuing partner Kulipa’s solvency issues, operations have been suspended and Solflare Card has paused service starting today. Vidor emphasized user fund safety, noting that Solflare Card uses an end-to-end self-custody model—payments are made directly from the user’s wallet, with no need for deposits or top-ups, and no user funds are held by the card issuer. The team had worked to help Kulipa find a buyer and explore continuation options, but to no avail. A new version of Solflare Card is under development and will include features such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, higher limits, cashback, and will also remain self-custody. It is expected to go live within a few weeks.
