ME News, April 28 (UTC+8): Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), said at the “Bitcoin 2026” conference that his proposal is to move securities settlement toward instant settlement (T+0), and that blockchain technology can fundamentally eliminate time risk between delivery and clearing. In addition, the SEC’s core determination of a token’s classification hinges on whether it comes with the issuer’s investment commitment, rather than the token’s form itself. After an asset is listed and becomes transferable, if it has already deviated from the issuer’s commitment, the securities information disclosure obligations no longer apply. (Source: Foresight News)
