Your power bill is about to start paying for the AI boom.


Data centres use 2% of Australia’s grid today, and by 2035 the projections have that at 10 times more.
If gas fills the gap, power prices rise up to 26%.
One data centre site asked for 40 million litres of water a day.
That’s 16 Olympic pools every day.
Albo says they’ll be forced to generate as much power as they use, but it’s not the law yet, and Microsoft and AWS are spending $45 billion building anyway.
Basically pour the concrete first, argue about the power later.
