If you’ve decided to quit a job at a company, the sooner you leave, the better. Once you’ve finished the handover for the most part, you can proactively find HR and request to leave early—so you can leave in a dignified way. If you’ve already completed the handover and there’s still half a month left, your boss will think you’re just “collecting pay,” and will try to find an excuse to make you leave early. That would be awkward—unless there are still people you haven’t handed things over to, in which case they’ll reluctantly keep you until your resignation date. In reality, I’ve seen way too many examples like this 🤡🤡🤡
