He said: “Only after you fall asleep, during those few hours, do they truly belong to me.”

A request for help sent by a girl
She said she recently had a fight again with her boyfriend over him playing games.
Actually, she doesn’t really mind her boyfriend playing games.
What really makes her uncomfortable is:
Every day, her boyfriend will first coax her to sleep, and then secretly get up to play.
At first, she didn’t know.
Until one day, she woke up in the middle of the night and found no one beside her.
She thought her boyfriend had gone to the bathroom.
But when she walked into the living room, the lights were on.
She saw him wearing headphones, facing his computer, playing squad matches with friends.
Slowly, she realized:
He does this almost every day.
After she falls asleep, he keeps playing until 1:00 or 2:00, even sometimes 3:00.
At first, she didn’t pay too much attention.
But in fact, the two of them had agreed to study together for the postgraduate entrance exam.
They said they would go to bed and wake up early every day, and learn together.
Recently, every night her boyfriend would always promise:
“Go to bed early tonight.”
But the next day, the moment the alarm went off,
she called him to get up.
He would always say:
“Sleep for another ten minutes.”
And then once she let him sleep again,
it would be 9 o’clock—sometimes even 10.
Slowly, she found herself becoming less and less like a girlfriend.
Instead, she felt more like someone who spends every day urging him to get up.
She started getting angry, started feeling disappointed.
Finally, during one argument, she asked her boyfriend:
“Why do you always have to wait until I fall asleep, then get up to play games?”
He was stunned for a moment,
then said:
“Because only after you fall asleep, during those few hours, do they truly belong to me.”
He said he needed to study during the day.
After finishing studying, he would chat with her.
Every day felt like it was arranged for him.
Only those hours in the early morning—
no need to reply to messages,
no need to complete anything,
no need to play any role.
Just quietly play two games.
After hearing all this,
she suddenly didn’t know whether she should keep being angry,
or whether she should feel sorry for him, understand him, and not know what to do.
So she posted to ask for help.
In your opinion, where exactly is the problem in this relationship?
Is it with the guy or with the girl?
