Hyperliquid responds to “Hynix contract injection”: contract deployment and operator Trade.xyz are investigating
PANews, July 28 — Hyperliquid responded to the “Hynix perpetual contract needle-injection incident,” saying that SK hynix perpetual contracts are deployed and operated by the Trade.xyz team. The Trade.xyz team is investigating the relevant situation and will update after reaching a conclusion.
Hyperliquid also explained the HIP-3 market mechanism: deployers are responsible for pushing the index/mark price of their markets, the oracle, and external price inputs, and may use a mark price method similar to that of perpetual contracts operated by validators. The protocol contributes one of the three median components, while the other two components are pushed by the deployer and affect the final mark price. For example, if the on-chain median is 100 and the deployer pushes 150 and 151, then the mark price will be 150.
Earlier, Hyperliquid’s SKHX saw an abnormal order flash drop of 17.9% in South Korea’s Hynix, and the liquidation amount exceeded that of Binance.
