#StrategyInitiatesSTRCBuyback

For years, Strategy built its reputation on one simple idea: buy more Bitcoin.

Every major announcement seemed to revolve around expanding its BTC treasury, regardless of market conditions. That's why this week's update caught many investors off guard. Instead of announcing another Bitcoin purchase, Strategy spent millions buying back its own preferred shares.

At first glance, that may sound less exciting than adding thousands of BTC. In reality, it could be one of the company's most important capital allocation decisions this year.

Between July 20 and July 26, Strategy repurchased 288,930 STRC preferred shares at an average price of $86.52, investing approximately $25 million. This was the first transaction under its newly approved Digital Credit Securities Repurchase Program, leaving roughly $975 million available for future buybacks.

The size of the buyback isn't what matters most.

The message behind it is.

Management has openly stated that when STRC trades below its $100 par value, the company intends to become a consistent buyer. In other words, Strategy believes the market is undervaluing one of its own securities and is willing to commit capital to prove that belief.

That changes the investment story.

Rather than chasing headlines, Strategy is focusing on strengthening the foundation that supports its long-term Bitcoin strategy.

This is where many investors misunderstand what happened.

The company did not suddenly become bearish on Bitcoin.

It became more disciplined with capital.

For the third consecutive week, Strategy made no additions to its Bitcoin treasury. Its holdings remain unchanged at 843,775 BTC, still making it the world's largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

Some traders immediately interpreted the pause as a sign of weakness.

I think the opposite argument deserves more attention.

Every company eventually reaches a point where preserving financial flexibility creates more value than aggressively buying new assets. Strategy appears to have reached that phase—not because it has lost confidence in Bitcoin, but because it understands that a stronger balance sheet gives it more options when opportunities return.

The company's liquidity tells the same story.

Strategy's U.S. dollar reserve has climbed to a record $3.75 billion after raising approximately $544.5 million through its at-the-market equity program. According to the company, those reserves are sufficient to cover more than two years of preferred dividend obligations, creating a significant financial cushion while Bitcoin markets remain volatile.

This is exactly how institutional capital is managed.

When an asset owned by the company trades below what management considers fair value, buying it back can generate better long-term returns than deploying capital elsewhere.

The buyback also reduces future dividend obligations attached to those preferred shares while demonstrating confidence in Strategy's own capital structure. It's not just about supporting the share price—it's about improving financial efficiency over time.

There's another important psychological angle.

Markets pay close attention to insider actions.

A company can issue optimistic statements every quarter, but committing real cash sends a much stronger signal. When management becomes a buyer during periods of weakness, investors often interpret it as confidence rather than concern.

That doesn't guarantee STRC immediately returns to its $100 par value.

But it does create an active buyer in the market whenever prices remain deeply discounted.

Looking ahead, several developments deserve close attention.

If STRC continues trading below par, additional buyback announcements become increasingly likely. With hundreds of millions of dollars still authorized under the repurchase program, Strategy has enough capacity to continue supporting the preferred shares for an extended period.

Bitcoin, however, remains the company's biggest long-term catalyst.

If BTC enters another strong bull cycle, Strategy will once again have the flexibility to expand its treasury from a position of financial strength rather than urgency.

That combination—balance sheet discipline today and optionality tomorrow—may ultimately prove more valuable than rushing into another Bitcoin purchase.

Key developments investors should monitor:

• Future STRC repurchase activity.
• Whether STRC gradually recovers toward its $100 par value.
• Changes in Strategy's 843,775 BTC holdings.
• Growth in the company's cash reserves.
• Bitcoin's next major trend, which will continue influencing Strategy's valuation.

My perspective is simple.

Many investors were waiting for another Bitcoin headline.

Instead, Strategy delivered something that sophisticated investors often appreciate even more: disciplined capital allocation.

Buying assets is easy.

Buying undervalued assets—including your own securities—requires patience, confidence, and a long-term mindset.

This announcement shows that Strategy isn't changing its belief in Bitcoin.

It's making sure the company is financially stronger before taking its next major step.

Sometimes the smartest investment isn't buying more.

It's increasing the value of what you already own.
