CXMT Opens 7.7% Lower. Day Two Is the Real Test

Yesterday CXMT took the A-share throne. Today it opened 7.7% lower. That gap-down is the real signal that the debut frenzy is meeting its first wave of profit-taking.

What Yesterday Actually Looked Like

The numbers from the session remain extraordinary. CXMT closed its debut with a 465.82% gain, a market capitalization of 3.28 trillion yuan and a record single-day volume of 141.1 billion yuan. The path inside that session was violent: it opened at 49.5 yuan collapsed to a trough of 38.11 yuan ( than 23% down from the open) within the first thirty minutes then rebounded as high as 55 yuan before settling at 49. Turnover hit 66.4% meaning than 60% of the tradable shares changed hands in a single day. That is not accumulation. That is a full-scale battle between holders locking in gains and new buyers chasing the narrative.

What the Gap-Down Suggests

An opening drop of 7.7% on the day is consistent with the scale of yesterday’s move. When than 60% of the float turns over in one session and the intraday range exceeds 23%, a gap-down the following morning is the market’s way of testing whether the buyers who stepped in during the rebound still have conviction. Some are clearly choosing to cash out into strength than hold through the first full session of price discovery.

The Gate Contract Angle

Gate’s CXMTUSDT perpetual is already live with up to 10x leverage on both sides. The accompanying hot-coin airdrop remains active: a 50,000 USDT prize pool distributed through first-trade rewards (5 USDT) daily check-ins (up to 35 USDT) and a shared volume pool (up to 200 USDT per person). The combination of volatility and an active incentive campaign creates a clear window for those who want to express a directional view on the second-day price action.

Scenario Framing

Continuation of pressure: If the gap-down attracts selling and the stock fails to reclaim yesterday’s settlement area the digestion phase could extend.

Stabilization: If dip buyers reappear and the price holds above the end of yesterday’s range the market may treat the 7.7% open as a routine post-debut correction.

Volatility remains the base case: Given the 66.4% turnover and the size of the debut premium wide intraday swings are still more likely than consolidation.

Closing Thought

Day one was about discovery and record-breaking volume. Day two is about whether the buyers who arrived during the rebound're willing to stay. The 7.7% lower open is the piece of evidence. How the rest of the session develops will tell us more about the balance, between profit-taking and residual demand.

This is simply my reading of the price action and the listed incentives. It is not a recommendation. Manage risk accordingly.
