Bitcoin retraces to $63k today (28), while Ethereum falls below $1,880. A total of $610 million is liquidated across the entire network, and the Fear Index drops back to 29, with market sentiment remaining sluggish.
(Background recap: Bitcoin bounced back to $65k, while Ethereum surged past 1,940 “liquidating” $210 million; the Fear Index rose to 30)
(Additional background: Is Ethereum reviving? The ETH/BTC exchange rate hits a 3-month high. Arkham: After a four-year 80% drawdown, it returns strongly.)

Bitcoin today (28th) continues its pullback. After US stocks closed mixed last night, the crypto market moved further down. Bitcoin briefly dipped to $63,457, setting a near one-week low. Ethereum also slipped below the $1,880 level. Only the two major assets have not broken their prior lows in the past 14 days, so the long-position structure has not fully collapsed. In the past 24 hours, a total of $610 million was liquidated across the network, wiping out longs. The Fear & Greed Index fell back to 29, and market sentiment remains weak.
Macros and catalysts
US stocks closed mixed on Monday (27th): the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.51% to 52,210, the S&P 500 was flat at 7,413, and the Nasdaq Composite edged down 0.18% to 24,932. The market is focused on the Fed’s interest rate decision this week. Trump again pressured the Fed to cut rates, saying US borrowing costs should be the lowest globally. This message offers some support for risk assets, but the crypto market response has been muted.
Performance of other coins
Major coins are broadly weakening. SOL is at $73.7, down 3.42% over 24 hours, approaching the 14-day low of $73.68. XRP is seeing the deepest drop, down 4.49% to $1.0587, continuing to set new 14-day lows. With no bullish catalysts across the market, capital continues to flow out of risk assets.
Market sentiment and outlook
Today’s Fear & Greed Index is 29, down 1 point from 30 the previous day. It continues the recent 8-day weak range (25-33), with sentiment staying cautious. Bitcoin’s 14-day high is $66,803 (July 21), and the low is $62,474 (July 14). It is currently in the mid-to-lower part of the range. Ethereum’s 14-day high is $1,967 (July 27 afternoon), and the low is $1,779 (July 14), with still downward pressure in the short term.
