ME AI On Monday (July 27), the U.S. tech mega-cap “Magnificent 7” index fell 0.43% to 208.64. Nvidia, a component stock, closed down 4.99%, marking its largest one-day decline since June 5. The “mega-cap” tech index fell 0.28% to 413.43. The U.S. storage chip and hardware supply chain index dropped 5.29% to 189.65. After the U.S. market opened slightly higher and briefly rose to 202.58 to set the day’s high, it then rapidly slid continuously; at 22:41 Beijing time, it refreshed the day’s low to 181.82, forming a long-tail “L-shaped” decline overall. Component stock SanDisk closed down 11.02%, while Lam Research, Teradyne, Western Digital, and Seagate Technology fell by up to 4.46%; Micron dropped 2.25%, and Rambus rose 0.43%. In addition, SK Hynix ADR fell 7.47% to $143.02, dipping below the U.S. IPO offering price. The Hyperscalers index rose 1.27% to 86.87. After gapping higher at the open, it continued to trade at a high level with narrow-range fluctuations. The Information Technology index fell 0.83% to 381.40. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) winners index fell 2.55% to 369.34. The AI software pioneers index rose 4.53% to 108.39, and after gapping higher at the open, it continued to trade at a high level with narrow-range fluctuations. The rate-cut winners index rose 4.35% to 96.40; among the components, Wayfair rose 12.3%, General Motors rose 5.32%, and Williams-Sonoma rose 3.37% to post the third-best performance. The North American tech software stocks ETF closed up 3.33%, Global X cyber security ETF rose 0.61%, Nasdaq cyber security ETF rose 0.79%, and ETFMG cyber security ETF rose 0.70.
