ESMA adds 15 CASP crypto asset service providers, including a firm under Bank of New York Mellon

ME News, July 27 (UTC+8): The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) updated its MiCA registration list last Friday, adding 15 crypto asset service providers (CASPs), bringing the total number on the temporary MiCA registration list to 309. This latest batch includes four banking institutions, including BNY SA/NV, the Belgian subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon, the U.S. banking giant, and three German banks, as well as digital asset platforms such as BitPay, Coinify, and Bleap. Germany and Denmark each added 3 CASPs, Bulgaria and Latvia each added 2, and Belgium, Cyprus, Liechtenstein, and the Netherlands each added 1. Previously, after the transition period ended on July 1, ESMA had completed two updates; the second update added 14 CASPs, including major industry companies such as Ripple Payments Europe. ESMA said that this update did not adjust other MiCA-related registration lists, such as those for asset-referenced tokens (ART) and e-money tokens (EMT). (Source: Foresight News)
