SoftBank’s $40B OpenAI investment loan adds 21 new lenders
PANews, July 27: According to Jin10, insiders said that the $40 billion bridge loan SoftBank Group raised to invest in OpenAI attracted 21 new lending institutions to join during the broader syndicated financing stage. The insiders said these new lenders collectively received about $7 billion of the loan quota. Among them, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Singapore’s Government Investment Corporation, and Standard Chartered Bank each subscribed for shares of nearly $1 billion. The remaining funds were allocated to some banks in Europe, Japan, and Taiwan. The insiders said the remaining $33 billion of the bridge loan is currently still held by underwriters and senior lenders, but may be further distributed in the syndication in the future.
