I used to think that having users was enough for a Web3 project.

Then I realized it’s probably not.
Users can come from all over the world, but if they aren’t connected to each other, in the end they’re just separate wallet addresses.
Recently, after looking at @RiverdotInc’s updates, I found that they’ve started to place more and more importance on another thing.
It’s not just running online activities—it’s bringing the community to different countries in a real way.
From an AI Meetup in Tokyo, to watching the World Cup in Argentina, to community events across different regions, River has recently been trying to connect users who were originally scattered globally.
I think this shift is pretty interesting.
Because in the future, Web3 competition may not only be about products and technology.
It could also be about the ability to connect communities.
When people from different countries sit together to communicate, discuss, and collaborate within the same ecosystem, this value is hard to measure with TVL or user numbers.
A truly global project shouldn’t just support many countries.
More importantly, it should create connections among users from different countries.
This may be what River has been doing recently.
For an ecosystem that wants to grow long-term, these connections may be more important than short-term hype.

Seeing River hold in-person events in Japan and Argentina, this kind of cross-time-zone, face-to-face communication can build real trust more than any airdrop.

Yes, community connectivity is indeed the core long-term competitive advantage.
