Why do so many people love playing with cryptocurrencies?

Because you can get rich overnight.
Earning 500 in a day— for many people, that’s already the ceiling. 15,000 a month, after taxes you take home more than 12,000. In a year, it’s 150,000 to 200k. That’s the rhythm for most people.
But in the crypto world, the simplest “buy and hold”— put in 10,000 yuan in principal, and in one bull run it can turn into 480k. This is a real thing that has happened. Ethereum: in March 2020, it rose from 88 USD to 4,800 USD in November 2021—a 48x increase. If you had invested 100k— then it becomes 4.8 million. You’d have to work for 24 years, without eating or drinking, even with an annual salary of 200k.
If you graduate college at 23 and save up 4.8 million, you’d already be 47. You’re almost old.
But in the crypto world, you only need to put in 100k during a bull market, and waiting a little over a year is enough.
How big is this temptation?
A 48x gain isn’t even that outrageous. In the 2021 bull market, Dogecoin, “shitcoins,” Solana— returns of hundreds of times or even ten thousand times were common. And then there are futures: 100x leverage— with 1,000 yuan, you could earn tens of millions in a day.
Compared to working, the money comes in so satisfying it’s hard to describe.
So that’s why so many people swarm in like crazy.
But in the end, most of them become bloody little “greens” (paper-handed suckers).
Crypto is easy to make money in, but it’s not that easy for you to make money. Those who post screenshots won’t tell you how many times they got liquidated. You only see them getting to “eat the meat,” you don’t see them getting beaten.
So my advice is: don’t go too hard. Stay steady, keep learning, and wait for opportunities like a hunter.
Leave yourself a way out— first learn how to survive. Real people who can make money don’t rely on being aggressive; they rely on staying steady.
I won’t lead anyone to get liquidated, and I won’t place trades blindly.
Winning by staying steady—that’s the way to live long.

You saw the thief eating meat, but you didn’t see the thief get beaten.

You can grab as much as 500 in a day—though that’s already the upper limit—but in the crypto world it’s also normal for the value to drop by half in a single day, mate. The profits at stake—up to risking your life—are not something everyone can handle.

Earning 500 in a day really is a ceiling, but in the crypto world, a drop by half in a single day is also pretty normal, bro. Returns that you bet with your life aren’t something everyone can handle.

You’re absolutely right—everyone has the dream of getting rich overnight, but in the end, 95% of people get completely cut to the bone. The real winners are the ones who manage to survive and make it through two full bull-and-bear cycles.

Holding-coins logic is fine, but the key is that you need that kind of staying power—and the principal has to be spare money; otherwise, if it hits the daily limit down in the middle of the night, you’ll lose your nerve.

But here’s the question: can you hold on? If it jumps by multiples, you want to run; if it drops, you panic and sell to stop the bleeding—human nature just can’t stand the test.
