PANews July 26 report, citing Jintou, that NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun posted an update on a social media platform, sharing a letter titled “Open Weight and American AI Leadership,” calling for the development of open-weight AI models. The letter’s initial version included 25 co-signing signatures. Now, the number of co-signing parties has increased to 50, doubling in count. OpenAI is one of the 25 newly added institutions, and other additions also include Google, AMD, Cisco, Cloudflare, GitHub, Block, and Ollama. However, Anthropic and Amazon have never appeared on any version of the list, and their absence is the most noteworthy detail among the entries.
