ME News update, July 26 (UTC+8): Russia’s largest bank, Sberbank, plans to launch crypto trading infrastructure and digital custody services before December 1 to support a regulated financial system. New rules for crypto trading, custody, and settlement in Russia will take effect on September 1, and requirements for licensed intermediary institutions will apply starting in July 2027. Public crypto trading in Russia will be limited to assets that meet strict liquidity and market-cap thresholds, and using crypto assets to pay for goods and services within the country remains prohibited.
