ME AI News: From the perspective of data-movement optimization, multiple next-generation AI chip startups are challenging NVIDIA. According to statistics compiled by X user Deedy Das, the technical paths these companies are taking include: Groq eliminates DRAM, Cerebras eliminates interconnects, d-Matrix eliminates the separation between compute and memory, Majestic eliminates the centralization of computation in servers, Etched, Taalas, and MatX eliminate general-purpose design, and Substrate eliminates $400 million worth of lithography equipment. All approaches aim to improve AI chip performance by reducing data-movement bottlenecks. (Source: MLion)
