Hut 8 issues $3 billion investment-grade bonds to finance AI data centers linked to Google

ME News message, April 27 (UTC+8), a project by Bitcoin miner Hut 8 Corp is issuing investment-grade guaranteed bonds to support its business funding related to Google (Alphabet Inc.). The project plans to issue at least $3 billion in senior bonds to build a 245-megawatt facility in St. Francisville, Louisiana. The offering will be handled by Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley. The 600k-square-foot project will generate revenue through a 15-year, approximately $7 billion lease agreement signed with cloud computing startup Fluidstack, with Google providing financial guarantees for payments under the lease and other obligations. A subsidiary of Entergy Corp. will supply power to the project under a services agreement. Hut 8 is a publicly traded Bitcoin miner, is pivoting into an energy and digital infrastructure company, and holds the controlling stake in US Bitcoin Corp.
