Pi Network moves 500M Pi amid price drop

The Pi Network team recently initiated significant transactions using its Pi coins. This comes as the price of Pi has fallen 25% since January 2026, raising concerns about a potential further decline.

A large on-chain transaction was detected: a wallet named PI Foundation 1 transferred 500 million Pi tokens worth more than $80 million.
The funds were not moved to exchanges; instead, they were sent to another internal wallet with the same name, indicating internal distribution rather than a market sale.
The Pi team said that 16 million participants have completed the migration to Mainnet, and 2.5 million previously locked users can now migrate.
Over 700,000 additional users will soon be available for KYC verification, while a new rewards distribution system for KYC validators is being tested.

Pi Coin market status

Pi’s price is down 25% over the past month and is currently consolidating around $0.1590, with a market capitalization of $1.4 billion.
In February 2026, a significant token unlock is expected: more than 193 million Pi tokens will be issued (worth over $31 million).
This will be the largest planned unlock until October 2027; on average, more than 7 million Pi tokens ($1.1 million) will enter the market daily over the next 30 days.
