Industrial and defense giant Lockheed Martin LMT’s stock price rose against the trend, closing up +2.22%, with trading volume significantly expanding during the session.

The company’s latest Q2 earnings report showed earnings per share exceeded Wall Street expectations by 10%, and the undelivered order backlog reached a record high of $230 billion.

Benefiting from growth in global defense demand driven by geopolitical developments, management raised its revenue and profit outlook for fiscal 2026 across the board, attracting a large amount of capital allocated to defensive assets.

A 10% better-than-expected earnings report isn’t too surprising, especially since the world is rearming; LMT’s production capacity and cash flow are what really matter.
