Breaking down how to approach trading in the US session: don’t rush to short altcoins at this stage
Here’s a trading plan publicly shared this week. It clearly distinguishes the trading cadence for BTC, ETH, and altcoins, and the logic is well worth referencing.
Overall, the approach is to treat the two major leaders differently from the smaller coins: in the short term, let Bitcoin consolidate while it trends upward, and don’t actively short the “big pie.” After the New York session opens, focus on positioning Ethereum short orders.
The key support levels shown in the chart have strong near-term bearish pressure, so it’s hard for the market to break down directly below them in one go. Special reminder: never set up altcoin short orders in advance. During the consolidation phase, it’s extremely easy to trigger stop-losses and get swept out. At this moment, the best choice is to focus only on the two large-cap coins—BTC and ETH—while avoiding the risk of altcoins repeatedly spiking back and forth.
The best time to short altcoins later is when the weekly timeframe opening level is completely breached, and after the price retraces. Retail panic-chasing dips will keep amplifying sell pressure; by then, the downside room for smaller coins will be fully opened up, making the risk-reward for shorting much more comfortable.
I’ll also place altcoin short orders, but I need to watch the market in real time the whole way and keep guarding my positions. Ordinary traders can’t really monitor the screen all day long, and impulsively setting up early will only increase losses.
Will you set up altcoin shorts in advance, or will you only trade BTC and ETH and wait for a clear breakdown signal?#夏日创作营 $BTC
