“Still I’ll do it.” the teammate said, “I’ll help you call.”

He shook his head and said, “If you do it, you’ll scare her.”
After 17 seconds, he finished that call and then fell unconscious right away..
The girl said that that night, her husband and a friend went out to play soccer
They played for a while, and her husband suddenly felt a severe discomfort in his chest
At first, everyone thought it was just the weather being too hot—heatstroke, right?
The teammate helped him sit on the sideline and handed him a bottle of water, letting him drink
After a moment, he was still extremely uncomfortable!
Everyone decided to send him to the hospital
After getting into the car, he first made a call to his wife.
He said:
“Just a bit uncomfortable. I’m going to the hospital to get checked.”
His wife even comforted him:
“Okay. I’m driving to the hospital now and waiting for you.”
He said:
“Okay.” His tone was very calm, just like how he usually chatted
Five minutes after he hung up
the phone rang again
It was still her husband
He said:
“Don’t go to that hospital just now. Let’s switch to one closer.”
The wife said:
“Okay. I’ll go there now.”
The entire call was only 17 seconds.
His voice and tone were exactly the same as usual
Very calm
She said she just felt a little worried at the time
and kept thinking:
“Maybe after they check, it’ll be fine”
But she didn’t know that
this was the last time they were able to have a normal conversation,
not long after they hung up
he lost consciousness in the car and passed out
His whole body collapsed onto his teammate
When the wife finally arrived at the hospital
the door to the emergency room was already closed
The doctor said it was an acute myocardial infarction
Later, his heart even stopped beating for a time
The doctor even asked the family to be mentally prepared
She stood at the emergency room doorway and cried continuously
She couldn’t get out a single complete sentence
In her mouth, she kept repeating only one line:
“Please, save him”
“As long as he’s alive, please…”
Luckily!
After a long time of emergency treatment,
his heartbeat finally returned.
Later, after the husband was out of danger,
the teammate only then told her something.
He said:
When he made the second call,
actually, he was already in severe pain and discomfort—he could hardly speak anymore
His face was so pale it was frightening
The teammate was afraid he wouldn’t be able to hold on, so he said:
“I’ll call my sister-in-law for you.”
He shook his head
After a few seconds of recovery
he still insisted on handing over the phone
He said:
“Still, I’ll do the calling.”
The teammate asked:
“Why?”
He said:
“If you call, you’ll be afraid and scare her.”
After the call ended
the phone had barely been put down
he passed out and fell unconscious
The girl said she had been thinking about it the whole time.
He was already in that much pain.
But in the end, he was still worried that the one on the other side of the phone would be frightened
The girl finally said:
“Later, I listened to the recordings of those two calls over and over again”
First call, 28 seconds.
Second call, 17 seconds.
I still can’t bear to delete them.
Because that was him, using all his strength, leaving me his last gentle sentence
From the girl’s narration..
