Bitwise: ETH staking hits an all-time high, accounting for 33% of circulating supply, with institutions continuing to add positions

Odaily Planet Daily reports that Bitwise has released its《2026 Q3 Staking Report》, showing that 40.2 million ETH have already been staked, accounting for 33% of ETH’s total supply, setting a new all-time high. This year’s additional staking has mainly come from institutions, including staking ETFs, corporate treasuries, and other large holders. The report also shows that Bitwise’s network-wide staking ratios remain at high levels, with Solana at 68%, Near at 45%, Hyperliquid at 44%, and Avalanche at 41%.

In addition, Ethereum throughput is up 73% year over year, and Avalanche transaction volume is 4 times that of the same period last year. Recently, Coinbase and Circle have both staked 500k HYPE on Hyperliquid, indicating that institutional staking is expanding into more emerging PoS networks.
