PANews July 24 news, AI programming company Cognition AI officially announced the acquisition of The Interaction Company of California. Poke is a personal agent that runs in text messages and can proactively initiate messages, follow up on user needs, and deliver services through an interaction style similar to “friends.” Over the past three months, Poke users have sent more than 100 million messages with it, making it the only AI agent currently natively supported by Apple and able to run directly in Apple Messages.

Cognition said that the agents built by the Interaction team are proactive, personalized, and highly interactive, which aligns with the development direction of its AI software engineering agent Devin. The two teams have been watching each other for years, and Cognition co-founder said that for a long time, both have been betting on “always-on cloud agents.” After the acquisition is completed, Poke users can continue using the product normally. In the future, Cognition plans to use its own models and infrastructure to improve Poke’s speed and reliability.
