#跟单日记 Can you make money with copy-trading in the crypto market? What are the risks of copy-trading?

Many traders have experienced copy-trading, or are currently going through it, because copy-trading is seen by many as the simplest way to trade—you just need to find the right person. It looks like a shortcut to “get rich while lying down,” but in reality, you hand your fate entirely to someone else. So where are the risks of copy-trading? Can you make money? Here are a few of my thoughts to share with everyone!

1、What you see isn’t necessarily real.
First, those profitable trade orders you see are only the ones they want you to see; losing trades won’t be shown to you.
Second, what you see might only be one account—while the other account is making trades in the opposite direction. In the end, whichever account is correct is the one they show.

2、A test of ethics and self-interest.
The earnings of most “signal/copy-trading teachers” are tied to trading volume, not the copy-trader’s profits. They don’t care how much you make—they just keep making trades frequently to earn more commissions. Some go even further and partner with certain non-compliant small exchanges to “eat losses” together.

3、Risks in the copy-trader’s own cognition and behavior
Treat copy-trading as a tool to get something for nothing, then give up your own learning and independent thinking. There is no position management—each time you copy, you go all-in. Even when you see consecutive wins, you blindly add more positions; when you see consecutive losses, you blindly cut positions. When making money, you want to make even more—at that point, it doesn’t matter who tells you to exit. You always think you can swallow a big fat one in one bite. After losses, you also don’t strictly follow the stop-loss strategy and end up holding on.

Those are the risk points, but not all copy-trading is risky. If your goal is to learn other people’s trading experience and methods, then your approach will be completely different.

The trading market is harsh, but it’s also fair. The path you should take won’t be missing a single step. Ordinary traders only absorb painful lessons after experiencing things themselves, then slowly reflect and grow. But great traders can learn from others’ failures and take fewer wrong turns. When you want to trade by following others, you should calm down and think: what can copy-trading really bring you? Can it truly help you make money?

#跟单日记 Can copy-trading in the crypto market make money? What risks are there in copy-trading?

Many traders have experienced copy-trading, or are currently experiencing it, because copy-trading is seen by many as the simplest way to trade—you just need to find the right person. It looks like a shortcut to quickly “make money while lying down,” but in reality it hands over your fate entirely to someone else. So where are the risk points in copy-trading? Is it possible to make money? I’ll share some of my thoughts as food for discussion with everyone!

1、What you see isn’t necessarily real.
First, those profitable trade orders you can see are only what they want you to see; the losing orders they won’t show you.
Second, what you see may be only one account. Another account might place trades in the opposite direction. In the end, they only post the account that is correct.

2、The test of ethics and self-interest.
Most “signal/copy-trading instructors” have their earnings tied to trading volume, not to the copy-trader’s profit. They don’t care how much you can make; they only trade frequently, so they can earn more commissions. Even worse, some may partner with certain non-compliant smaller exchanges to share in the losses of victims.

3、Risks in the copy-trader’s own cognition and behavior
Treating copy-trading as a tool for getting something for nothing leads to giving up your own learning and independent thinking. There’s no position management: every time you copy-trade you go in with full allocation. Even when you see consecutive profits, you blindly add more. When you see consecutive losses, you blindly cut nothing and stop-losses become ineffective. When making money, you want to make even more—at this point, it doesn’t matter who tells you to exit. After losses, you also don’t strictly follow a stop-loss strategy; you just “hold and hope” (die holding).

These are the risk points—but not all copy-trading is risky. If your goal is to learn other people’s trading experience and methods, then your approach would be completely different.

The trading market is harsh by nature, but it is also fair. The road you should walk won’t be missing a single step. After ordinary traders go through it, they will only absorb the painful lessons, then slowly reflect and grow. But excellent traders can learn from other people’s failures and take fewer detours. When you want to trade by copying others, you should calm down and think: what can copy-trading really give you? Can it truly help you make money?
