The World Cup might be over, but prediction markets are nowhere near slowing down.
Don’t make the mistake of treating prediction markets like they’re built around major sporting events, because they’re not!
The World Cup was simply one of the biggest narratives at the time. Now that it’s ended, the attention has shifted elsewhere, but the markets are still very much alive.
In fact, some of the biggest opportunities today have nothing to do with football.
If you follow crypto, politics, macroeconomics, or even global affairs, there’s probably a market for something you already have an opinion on.
Take @Polymarket, for example. It’s still the largest on-chain prediction market, with active markets spanning everything from Bitcoin price movements and AI developments to elections, geopolitics, and major world events.
The liquidity there means you’re almost always trading against a very active market.
Then there’s @Kalshi, which has carved out a different niche.
Rather than focusing on crypto users, it’s a regulated U.S. prediction market where you can trade event contracts using fiat.
If you keep up with Fed decisions, inflation reports, employment data, or elections, this is one of the biggest platforms in that space.
@PredictIt continues to be one of the most recognizable names for political forecasting.
If U.S. elections, party primaries, or congressional races are your thing, that’s where many politically inclined traders spend their time.
I also find @azuroprotocol interesting—not because it’s another prediction app, but because it’s building the decentralized infrastructure that other sports prediction and betting applications can build on.
Instead of competing with apps, it’s enabling an ecosystem.
That’s what makes prediction markets so interesting, you don’t have to be right about everything
You just need to understand something better than the average person.
