After trading for a long time, I slowly understood a truth: the market never lacks opportunities; what’s missing is the capital that can stay at the table for good.
Back then, when I got deeply trapped, my first reaction was also to stubbornly hold on. I always felt that as long as I didn’t close the position, it didn’t count as a real loss. Later, after the market repeatedly taught me a few lessons, I finally saw clearly: what truly can save an account is never just from stubbornness, but from learning to admit defeat and actively managing losses.
Sharing a few methods I use now:
1. Cut off emotion positions. When you’re trapped, don’t go calculating how much you’re down. Just stare at the chart and ask yourself one question: “If I were in cash right now and saw this current price action, would I go long or go short?” If the answer is to go short, then your long position should have been cut long ago—there’s no need to keep burning time.
2. Don’t always think about getting back to break-even all at once. Keep a bit of core position, and use the remaining funds to reduce at rebound high points and take back on pullback low points. Slowly lower your average entry price. Getting out of the trap is a process of patiently waiting for time—it can’t be rushed.
3. If the big trend hasn’t changed, and it’s only ranging, then turn off the software. Don’t keep staring at the intraday chart— the more you watch, the more anxious you become. Set your stop-loss and grids, and let the system run on its own.
Losses are always part of trading. It doesn’t mean you’re not good—it only means this trade wasn’t done right.
If your current position is weighing on you so much that you can’t sleep, take my advice: close the software and go out for a walk. The market is always there, but once your mindset breaks, what you do next will only become more and more wrong.
Don’t rush to get back to profit—stabilize yourself first. As long as your capital is still there and your rhythm is still there, you can always slowly climb back out. #Gate事件合约首发狂欢 $BTC $ETH
