A-share close: The three major indices saw reduced-volume choppy trading and finished slightly higher, with more than 4,200 stocks rising across the market.
PANews July 23. According to Caixin/China Securities Journal, the three major indices traded in a lower-volume sideways range and closed up slightly. The yellow and white lines showed clear divergence, and small- and mid-cap stocks performed stronger. The combined trading volume across the Shanghai and Shenzhen markets was 2.2 trillion yuan, down 458 billion yuan from the previous trading day. In terms of market themes, hot sectors rotated quickly. More than 4,200 stocks rose across the board, and over 100 hit the daily limit. By sector, the power grid equipment concept surged: Shuangjie Electric, Heshun Electric, Shunna Shares, Hanlan Cable, CN Energy Electric, and China XD Electric all hit limit-up. The lithium mining concept fluctuated and strengthened: Guocheng Mining, Yongshan Lithium Industry, and Shengxin Lithium Energy hit limit-up. The power sector saw repeated activity: Liaoning Lixin New Energy achieved a sixth consecutive limit-up; Huadian Liaoneng logged 3 limit-ups in 4 days. In non-ferrous metals, the intraday rise lifted the sector: Shengda Resources posted a 3-day winning streak; Nanshan Aluminum hit limit-up. The oil and gas concept continued its strength: Zhongman Petroleum posted 3 limit-ups in 4 days. On the downside, the semiconductor industry chain fluctuated and adjusted: Huarong Hongli fell by more than 12%, while Raythink Micro, UJIE Tech, and SMIC all dropped. By market close, the Shanghai Composite rose 0.25%, the Shenzhen Component rose 0.44%, and the ChiNext rose 0.25%.
