Bithumb’s first-instance verdict in its lawsuit to recover a mistakenly sent Bitcoin was issued on August 27

PANews July 23 news: According to Digital Asset, the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea has scheduled a ruling for the first session of a lawsuit over Bithumb’s mistaken Bitcoin recovery, on August 27 at 2:00 PM. The lawsuit targets users who received the mistakenly sent Bitcoin, sold it, and held the cash, requiring them to return unjust enrichment, with an amount of about 194 million Korean won. Bithumb filed civil lawsuits against four users in March; the four cases will be heard independently.

In February this year, Bithumb mistakenly sent 620k BTC as event rewards in the form of won points, triggering a major controversy. The financial authorities subsequently strengthened internal control and accounting inspection obligations for digital asset exchanges, and the National Assembly also held an emergency question-and-answer session and advanced relevant legislation. After that, Bithumb recovered 99% of the 1,788 BTC that had not yet been recovered.
