The latest upgrade to Gate gStocks surprised me a bit.

There are now more than 58 tokenized securities, and they’re supported 1:1 by native stock reserves. They can be traded 24/7, and you can get started with as little as 1 USDT.
Then your holdings can be directly used as collateral to borrow crypto, put into Yu’e Bao under a unified account; you can also go long or short, and if you meet the requirements, you can automatically receive dividends.
Previously, if you held stocks yourself, you basically only had wait-and-see for price gains or losses. Now, the same asset price exposure is still there, but you can also rotate, manage, and compose your portfolio. In other words, stocks finally have the composability of crypto.
Efficiency has improved, but risk has expanded too. Borrowed crypto comes with interest, leverage carries liquidation risk, and tokenized securities are also not the same as holding equity directly in a brokerage account. In short, no matter how many tools you have, it still ultimately depends on whether you can control your position sizing and keep your boundaries.
