7.23 BTC is consolidating and pausing near the high, building up strength—waiting to choose a direction!

Current market conditions

On the 2-hour timeframe, BTC has already achieved all three major range targets from earlier. It has now entered a typical distribution/accumulation consolidation mode, shown as high-level sideways oscillation. It’s important to clarify that—sideways consolidation ≠ trend reversal; this is simply a normal phenomenon where the divergence between bulls and bears increases.

Key price levels at a glance

Resistance zone above:

66600-67000 (prior high pressure band)
After a breakout above 67000, there is potential for accelerated upward movement

Support tiers below:

65000-65400 (prior low support band)

Trading strategy

Short-term idea: Participate in short-term shorts near the high side, but you must move fast and exit quickly, with strict stop-losses. Any short positions near the prior high must be closed out—do not hold them.

Medium-term main idea: The broader timeframe trend is still dominated by a bullish bias. If there is a deep pullback into the 64000-64600 area, you can look to accumulate on dips when the timing is favorable.

Breakout plan: If, after the sideways consolidation, it chooses an upward breakout (valid close above 67000), then follow the momentum to add longs and take the opportunity of the accelerated move.

Summary

The main storyline is simply to wait—wait for certainty. Whether it’s a technical breakout signal or a news-driven catalyst, it requires a bit of patience. The more complete the consolidation build-up, the stronger the breakout’s explosive power will be.

From a technical perspective, the 2-hour timeframe is consolidating sideways and building up energy. The MACD shows signs of a potential dead cross, but it hasn’t formed yet. Trading volume is also shrinking. On the news front, there aren’t any major negative catalysts, so there’s no need to panic for now. In terms of trading, take short-term trades with quick entries at higher levels and quick exits; for the mid-term, wait for pullbacks and buy at lower prices. Remember: the longer the sideways consolidation lasts, the stronger the breakout will be—don’t get shaken out of the car during the volatility.

This run-up from 60,000 has already gained quite a bit. It’s normal to consolidate sideways now to digest the profit-taking. The key is whether it can hold above 67,000; if it can, the next target is 70,000. If it breaks below 65,000, it may pull back to 64,000.
