Ethereum: The Foundation undergoes a major downsizing, as validators queue in to enter with 2.48 million ETH

Ethereum ushered in a historic change in July. The Ethereum Foundation will cut its budget by 40% and lay off 20% of staff, as part of the “Lean Ethereum” era strategic reset proposed by co-founder Vitalik Buterin. As of July 1, the ETH transaction price is close to $1,570, near a low point in the past three years.

Meanwhile, the queue for Ethereum validators leaving has been cleared to zero, but the entry queue has accumulated about 2.48 million ETH, and the expected waiting time is 43 to 45 days. Currently, about 40.9 million ETH is staked by around 885k active validators, accounting for about 33.56% of ETH’s total supply. Ethereum ETFs have seen cumulative net inflows of about $10.48 billion.

On the technical side, developers proposed EIP-8222 on July 6, aiming to enable anonymous staking using zero-knowledge proofs. ETH is currently above $1,900, rising 8% for seven consecutive trading days. The upcoming Glammsterdam upgrade will be the first test of whether “Lean Ethereum” can be effectively implemented. #特斯拉持有11509枚BTC近四年未动
