Spend a little money to do big things! Jia Yueting really has an eye for it. Just as the World Cup had barely ended, Faraday Future clinched the runner-up spot—an Argentina order—achieving a commercial tie-up with Messi. While fans around the world are still hotly discussing the World Cup and the hype hasn’t died down, on July 20, Jia Yueting’s Faraday Future FF decisively moved and announced that it has reached a cooperation with the Argentine Football Association, officially becoming the Argentine national team’s sponsor in North America for robotics and related technologies.

It has to be said: Jia Yueting really has a way. This so-called cooperation looks quite intimidating. Most people may be fooled at first glance. A proper World Cup runner-up, the Argentine national team, and even Messi—right after the World Cup ended, they collaborated with Jia Yueting. Only business giants could do something like this. So just how “cool” is Faraday Future?
And this is exactly the marketing method Jia Yueting is good at. Take a closer look and you can find the problem. In terms of the cooperative robotics business, it’s still the robotics field in Argentina—specifically in North America. The “cooperation” is simply FF providing sponsorship. Argentina is a place that has absolutely no presence in the global robotics space. It’s just a football team—so they play friendly matches or training with the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—where would robots actually be used? Or is it really that Jia Yueting’s robots are being deployed?
So most likely, Jia Yueting didn’t spend much at all. He simply approached the Argentine team in a grand, respectable way, saying he can provide robot sponsorship, and then Messi’s image has to be allowed for FF’s marketing. The robots haven’t even been delivered yet, and the goal of “getting something for nothing” has already been achieved by Boss Jia.
Tacking on Messi’s massive natural traffic tree with almost zero cost—can’t simply say that Argentina and Messi were “scammed for views” by Jia Yueting. The size of this traffic pool is too huge. They may not care about people “shearing the sheep” for free.
It can only be said that Jia Yueting is too business-minded. In tandem with FF’s recent big deal of breaking $400k in a single transaction, Jia Yueting’s cooperation with domestic robotics players like Zhiyuan and other giants to sell domestically made robots to the United States—this business is indeed getting bigger and bigger. After all, Boss Jia’s dream of returning to China next week—used to rely on making cars, but now it’s all about robots. $FF
