Deep Tide TechFlow news: On July 22, Amazon (AMZN.O) conducted layoffs in its general AI (AGI) division on Wednesday. This is the latest in a series of smaller rounds of layoffs that followed the company’s large-scale layoffs in January. “We have been building large AI models for years, and this is still one of our most important initiatives,” an Amazon spokesperson said. “We are focusing on the projects that matter most to customers so we can move faster in key areas. This focus means we have to make some difficult decisions, including reducing some roles in the AGI organization.” (Jinshi)
