Should you chase MU at $970?
First, look at the surface: the storage sector is collectively surging, with Micron leading the charge.
In the past 24 hours, Micron is up 12.17%, closing at $970.82, with an intraday high of $982.79. SK Hynix is up 13.7%, SanDisk is up 14%, and Western Digital is up 12%—the entire storage sector is like it’s been injected with energy.
Dropping from 1255 to 847, after a 35% pullback it violently bounced back. The 4-hour structure is still tilted bullish, and the daily chart is consolidating in the 968-972 range. Volume expanded by 1.27x. The oversold bounce is here, but a trend reversal is still too early.
First thing: 16 strategic customer agreements—turning memory into a “subscription model”
Micron has signed 16 strategic customer agreements with clients, with a cumulative minimum contract value of about $100 billion. With cash deposits and a price floor, revenue visibility is extremely high.
In the past, memory was a “cyclical product”—you make a fortune when prices rise, and you lose badly when prices fall.
Now it’s “infrastructure”—customers lock orders years in advance, with built-in price protection.
HBM capacity for all of 2026 is fully sold out, and 2027 is basically locked in as well.
Second thing: institutions collectively raised target prices—the most aggressive one sees 2200
KeyBanc reiterated a buy/add rating with a target price of $1750.
Lyon raised its target price to $1700, with a “outperform” rating.
UBS raised it to $1625.
Bank of America kept it at $1550.
Morgan Stanley raised it to $1050.
Wall Street’s average target price is about $1492-$1563—implying another 50-60% upside from $970.
Third thing: earnings exploded into something ridiculous—up 346%
FY2026 Q3 results released end of June: revenue $41.46 billion, up 346% year over year; EPS $25.11, far above expectations. The Q4 guidance is even stronger: revenue about $50 billion, gross margin 86%, and EPS about $31.
HBM4 has entered mass production and shipped with over $1 billion in revenue; full-year 2026 HBM capacity is fully sold out.
Bull vs. bear—you decide.
One side says:
Sixteen strategic agreements lock in $100 billion in revenue; the business model has been upgraded completely.
Average institutional target price is 1500+—still implying 50-60% upside.
HBM capacity is sold out through 2027; supply tightness is structural, not cyclical.
Q4 guidance: $50 billion revenue, 86% gross margin, EPS $31—explosive, almost unbelievable.
From 847 to 970 with a violent rebound, volume up 1.27x—real buying has stepped in.
The other side says:
Dropped from 1255 to 847; a 35% pullback leaves trapped longs stacked up heavily.
The 1000-1030 zone is a strong resistance area—failed to break through three times.
A collective surge in the storage sector could be short-term sentiment repair rather than a full trend reversal.
If the broader market pulls back, MU with high beta could be hit first.
Key levels
Resistance overhead: 1000 (psychological level) → 1030-1050 → 1100-1200 → 1255 (all-time high)
Support below: 925-935 (first support) → 900 → 850-870 (hard floor)
For short-term traders:
Wait for a pullback to 925-935 to enter with a small position; stop loss below 900; first target 1000-1030. If it breaks above 1000 on heavy volume, chase long with stop loss at 960, targeting 1100-1200.
For swing traders:
Wait for the daily close to hold above 1000, then add on the right side; target 1255-1500. Micron’s fundamentals can no longer be judged with the “cyclical stock” logic—16 strategic agreements lock in revenue for years ahead.
For long-term believers:
Dollar-cost average with no hesitation below 900. Wall Street average target is 1500, KeyBanc sees 1750. The end of 2026 target is 1500-1750—betting that AI memory structural shortage continues, and that the business model shifts from a cycle to infrastructure.
Leverage and risk control:
For perpetual contracts, 3-10x leverage is recommended—never above 15x. Risk per single trade should not exceed 2-3% of total capital. Watch the funding rate; at highs it may lean toward a positive rate. Set take-profit and stop-loss, and follow them strictly.
MU now is like NVIDIA in 2023—
99% of people think “it’s gone up too much, it should drop,” and then every pullback turns out to be an opportunity to get in. From 300 to 1000, then to 3000. #事件合约上线 #特朗普同意Clarity法案纳入伦理条款 #夏日创作营 $MU $SKHY $SNDK
